Job Description: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant with comprehensive knowledge of Sage Line 50 accounts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into Sage Line 50, ensuring all records are up-to-date and precise.

Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank, cash, and credit card accounts to maintain accurate financial records.

Ledger Maintenance: Maintain debtor and creditor ledgers, ensuring all entries are correct and current.

VAT Returns: Prepare, submit, and reconcile VAT returns in compliance with HMRC requirements.

Journal Posting: Post journals including prepayments and accruals, ensuring correct financial reporting.

Year-End Reconciliation: Conduct full reconciliation of the trial balance at year-end, preparing for audits and financial reviews.

Compliance: Adhere to all financial deadlines including those set by Companies House and HMRC.

Invoice Processing: Post invoices raised and rents received, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.

Client Deposits: Reconcile client deposits both received and repaid via a dedicated deposit account.

Arrears Management: Actively pursue any rental arrears, maintaining open communication with clients to resolve issues promptly.

General Office Duties: Answer telephone calls, liaise face-to-face with clients, and manage the filing of legal and financial documents.

Requirements

Requirements:

Previous experience in a financial role
Proven expertise in using Sage Line 50

Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Ability to meet strict financial deadlines.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
