Waste Operative

Joshua Robert are working with a well-established client that are working with quite a few local authorities and housing associations across the North East.

Middlesbrough Council are looking for a number of Refuse Loader/Waste Operatives to assist with their Waste Operative schemes across the borough.

The successful candidates will be required to work on the rounds, emptying resident's green garden waste bins.
Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To assist in the removal and disposal of refuse and recyclable waste. This includes pushing and pulling waste bins of all sizes, removal of furniture from ground level, heavy manual handling duties and walking long distances. Sweeping Alleyways and removal of fly tipped material
2. To complete work records as required.
3. To ensure the safe keeping and maintenance of any issued tools, equipment, PPE and clothing.
4. To operate any equipment associated with the duties of the post.
5. To carry out assigned duties and tasks, ensuring a quality service is delivered in a timely manner and in line with Middlesbrough Councils Values
6. To assist with the development of the Council’s services by participating in service development exercises.
7. To carry out all duties in a courteous and considerate manner, including resolving customer issues/problems at the kerbside – or bringing them to the attention of the Group Leader.
8. To have a flexible approach and participate in out of hours working by working overtime as and when required. This may include evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, at short notice.

Be physically Fit (lots of walking involved)
Hold a valid Manual Handling certificate
Be a team playerWorking Week :

37 hours per week
