The School and Role

This ‘Good’ Primary SEND school, based in North Tyneside, supports children and young people aged between 3-11 and is looking to appoint a passionate Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to work in Key Stage 1 classes on a full-time or part time basis. The desired Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant will be working on a small class sized basis and 1:1 with pupils with SEND include not are not limited to; Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties. This Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant role is long term from March ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.

The school aims to meet children’s individual needs so that every child is challenged to be the best that they can be and reach their full potential whilst providing a safe, secure learning environment where children can grow into happy, healthy citizens of the future.

Requirements

The desired Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant will have;

-          Experience of working with primary school aged children

-          Experience of working with pupils with SEND

-          A passion for the progress of SEND primary school pupils

-          An ability to work as part of a team
