Position Overview: We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Project Quality Engineer to join our team in Salford To support in the overall delivery of the business objectives, whilst implementing departmental procedures in line with Company standards.Responsible for the supervision of operational activities within their area of the fabrication facility to ensure that efficient production is maintained in order to meet specified requirements. Also responsible for the preparation and fabrication of product to a high standard, ensuring all non-conformities are reported to supervisory staff.
Responsibilities:
* Provide support to the Project Team in delivering the projects quality approach by coordinating with the internal team, the client and supply chain.
* Ensure along with the Project Team and other relevant functions, adherence to safety principles.
* The compilation of Manufacturing Records, Documentation and Certification for final presentation to the client in a timely manner (in line with project schedule).
* Working closely with the inspection team and other departments to ensure all project paperwork is up to date and in-line with project schedule.
* Ensuring all Material Certification & Reports are present and correct.
* Provide advice and support to the Project Team on all aspects of quality, including the production and delivery of quality planning and control documentation.
* Management of NOI’s (Notification of Inspections), ensure NOI’s are issued in a timely manner to meet schedule requirements, ensure delays in inspections are notified to the client in a timely manner and new dates advised.
* Coordination of client inspections by working with the relevant departments to ensure all documentation required for a successful inspection is readily available.
* Ensure non-conformances (NCRs), internal, supply chain & client issued, are managed, and closed out in a timely manner and support the implementation of necessary correction and corrective actions to remedy any non-conformity found and to avoid recurrence.
* Ensure Supplier quality arrangements are reviewed and accepted in accordance with project requirements, including client approvals.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
* Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role, preferably in the defence, nuclear industry or similar setting.
* Knowledge of quality management principles, tools, and techniques, such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective solutions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
* Experience with quality management systems and documentation, including quality plans, procedures, and inspection reports.
