Protocol Education are working alongside a number of Sunderland Secondary schools to recruit  Sport Graduates or people from sport backgrounds to take their skills and experience into an educational setting.

 Role: Various roles available including learning support and cover supervisors depending on experience, qualifications and skills.

Hours: Hours are typically 08:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday. We have roles available on a full and part time basis.

The skills, characteristics and qualities that are developed throughout a degree in sport can often be transferred over to have a successful career working within the education sector. Teamwork, determination, organisation, and motivation are all essential to working with young people and when working in a sporting environment. You will have developed the background knowledge and skills during your studies and experience to lead peers in their learning journey, as well as having a passion for the subject. Physical Education is a crucial part of the curriculum that can often be underrated, so having your skills and passion radiate during lessons will have a profound effect in nurturing the young people you are working with.

Roles Available:

-  Class Teacher – Depending on qualifications (QTS needed)

-  Sports Coach

-  Cover Supervisor/Unqualified Teacher – (No qualifications needed, only relevant experience working with young people such as coaching)

-  Learning Mentor

-  1:1 Mentor

Qualifications and Experience: Desirable but not required

-  Any previous teaching/youth work experience or any relevant experience working with young people

-  Any relevant qualifications

Teaching

First Aid
Youth work
-  Understanding of the National Curriculum

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
