With exciting recent and ongoing growth through new market penetration and export, this business now seeks to support their expansion plans through the appointment of a Buyer and Materials Controller into a newly created role, managing and controlling the sourcing and materials inventory, ensuring efficient stock levels and smooth operations.
Key skills
* Experience in a manufacturing environment in a procurement, materials control, inventory management, materials control capacity
* Experience with MRP and stock replenishment systems
* Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring accurate and timely stock delivery
* Ability to monitor and analyse stock performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
* Some previous experience in procurement - sourcing and purchasing direct materials and keenness to develop in this area
* Working toward or already part qualified in CIPS
* A proactive, innovative and ‘can do’ problem solver
* Change focused and inquisitive individual who embraces lean procurement and supply chain principles and practices
* Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
* Able to prioritise a busy and varied workload
* An ambitious, dynamic, ‘high energy’ individual who prefers to take ownership and applies an innovative and proactive approach to problem solving
