As a SEN Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will possess an obvious passion for inclusive education. You will need to have empathy, compassion, and patience as you will be supporting the most vulnerable children within the school. Candidates with existing experience working with young people or within education, or a care role will take priority.
As a SEN Secondary Teaching Assistant your role will involve you working within the pastoral team supporting pupils across key stage 2 to key stage 4. You will support pupils across all key stages on a group basis and on a 1-2-1 basis.
To keep up to date with the latest teaching codes and practices, the school will encourage you to attend a range of CPD and training opportunities.
As a SEN Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will be working and developing through the clear advice and direction of a positive SENCO and head of pastoral team.
The Secondary Alternative provision work with pupils who are experiencing difficulties within a mainstream setting due to medical, social emotional needs and behavioural difficulties. They believe all pupils are entitled to the very best education through a developed personalised curriculum.
