Title: Senior Designer/ Design Manager

The successful candidate will be the first in house designer and will be responsible for managing the entire design process, from conceptualisation to execution. You will serve as a crucial link between the creative vision and the practical implementation of designs. You will manage key areas, including project planning, resource management, quality control, and compliance with regulations.

This will be a great opportunity for the right candidate to grow into a Design Manager role, be given a budget and build their own team.

Additionally you will be required to communicate among stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

* Location: Salford, Manchester
* Salary: £35k = £45k (experience dependant)
* Package: Car Allowance & Mileage, 25 Hols, Pension, etc
* Sector: Commercial CAT A & B fitout, Hotel Fitout, Student Accommodation refurbs & Fitout.
* Must understand: CDM Regulations, AutoCAD, Revit & BIM
* Would Prefer: 5 years in a Designer role, Architecture Degree

My client is a Fitout & refurb company that specialise in 3 main sectors: Commercial Interiors, Student Accommodation & Hotels. They work with clients across the country as a subcontractor on newbuild projects providing the interior fitout package and as the main contractor on refurb projects.

They cover projects that range in size from £1m - £7m with their average being £3/4m. They have a lot of work across the M62 corridor in central Liverpool, Manchester & Leeds. However they have also won multiple projects in Glasgow, Birmingham, London and the South Coast.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the design process from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and regulations.
* Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to develop design briefs, specifications, and deliverables.
* Review and approve design proposals, drawings, and documentation to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with project objectives.
* Provide technical guidance and support to the design team, resolving any design related issues or challenges that may arise.
* Monitor project progress, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement, and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
* Foster a collaborative and innovative design culture, promoting continuous learning and development within the team.

Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role within the construction or related industry.
* Strong knowledge of design principles, techniques, and software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
* Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
