Electrical Controls & Software Engineer

SimWest is excited to collaborate with a prominent leader in the industrial machinery manufacturing sector to recruit a proficient Electrical Controls & Software Engineer.

This pivotal position encompasses the design, development, and oversight of sophisticated control systems customised to meet the specific requirements of their high-speed machinery and the needs clients around the globe. The role also focuses on improving the performance and functionality of their equipment through the use of advanced software solutions and providing exceptional technical support.

Key Responsibilities for the Electrical Controls & Software Engineer:

* Design, develop, and test new control systems while maintaining and modifying existing ones.

* Conduct pre-testing of panels and commission installations.

* Perform regular service maintenance and calibration on control systems.

* Develop software and ladder logic for process controls, tailored to project-specific requirements.

* Generate CAD and electrical schematic drawings.

* Offer technical support to clients, ensuring high levels of service and problem resolution.

Requirements:

* HND/Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Automation & Control Engineering, or a related field.

* Proficiency in writing control software and familiarity with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms.

* Expertise in HMI programming and a sound understanding of CAD software.

* Proven ability to engage in hands-on commissioning tasks including setup, testing, fault diagnosis, and panel adjustments.

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

* Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and numeracy skills.

* Flexibility to travel up to 70% of the time, including international travel.
