Job Title - Electrical Design Engineer
Beehive Recruitment is on the lookout for an Electrical Design Engineer (EC&I Engineer) for a market leader in Bolton. We are working with a world leader in the manufacture of Pharmaceutical equipment such as Microbiological Equipment.
Role Purpose:-
To contribute to the success of the client through detailed, efficient and on time controls hardware and documentation design, implementation and validation leading to quality, reliable and compliant equipment for clients. The role will also support some project management as needed.
Job Description
* Perform project electrical and pneumatics hardware design including test and validation activities on equipment and systems in accordance with applicable regulatory standards and to cGMP and GAMP 5 guidelines for the pharmaceutical industry; Must be strong in this hardware design of electrical, P&ID and Pneumatic Schematics.
* Must be capable of sizing wiring, breakers, circuit loading and component selection
* Have a basic level of programming knowledge in Siemens or Allen Bradley with the ability to troubleshoot and IO checking an advantage, but not essential as can be taught to the right person.
* Liaise with associated team members to ensure the effective communication and execution of design, assembly and test activities, including detailed organized work structure and presentation to effectively hand over the product to production.
* Liaise with suppliers to gain knowledge and understanding of the equipment to be used and ensure fit for purpose and procurement.
* Attend internal and client meetings as required to ensure specifications and deadlines are met within constraints;
* Understand requirements for Aseptic and Non-Aseptic Isolator Systems and their construction in order to be suitable for its application;
* Generate P& ID' s, electrical schematics, panel wiring diagrams, termination diagrams, pneumatic schematics, assembly instructions, functional specifications and test/ validation protocols to required standards.
* Basic knowledge of reading mechanical arrangement and assembly drawings.
* Utilize project support documentation in the design, assembly and test of the equipment such as clients URS's, quotations
* Utilize industry reference guides to provide a compliant system including, general electrical codes/ standards, hazardous area requirements and GAMP 5 in the design and validation of automated systems and cGMP in the compliant construction of equipment.
* Provide assembly, test and validation support as required.
* The role shall be mainly focused on live projects with customers in addition to development and maintenance of standards.
* Compilation of bill of Materials for Electrical & Pneumatic items
* Ensure compliance to regulatory standards, CE / UL, ATEX
* Ability to design to IEC and NEC standards.
* Manage own projects on an as needed basis, handling client communications if needed and working to schedules in partnership with the Project Managers.
