Our client is a Tier 1 Main Contractor seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team in the North West. This role is crucial in managing the financial aspects of high-profile construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management:

Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate cost forecasting and control.
Monitor and report on project expenditure, identifying and addressing any variances.
Tendering and Procurement:

Develop and issue tender documents, including bills of quantities, for subcontractors and suppliers.
Evaluate and analyse tenders, making recommendations for contract awards.
Contract Administration:

Manage contract documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Administer variations, extensions of time, and final accounts.
Valuations and Payments:

Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and prepare interim valuations.
Certify subcontractor and supplier payments, ensuring they are aligned with work completed.
Risk Management:

Identify potential financial and contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Conduct regular risk assessments and update project stakeholders accordingly.
Financial Reporting:

Prepare detailed cost reports and forecasts for senior management and clients.
Provide regular updates on financial performance and project profitability.
Stakeholder Management:

Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met.
Address and resolve any financial or contractual disputes promptly and professionally.
Compliance and Quality Control:

Ensure all cost management activities comply with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies.
Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Team Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, site teams, and other departments to ensure seamless project delivery.
Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment.Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or similar body is preferred.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a Main Contractor.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
