Here at TSA Surveying, we are looking to take on Fire Risk Assessors for a good client of ours. Going into their 24th year in business, originally set up to service social housing, they now service over 500 public and private sector organisations across NHS, Education, Residential and Rail. Alongside the expansion of the client base, this has meant they have been able to offer a variety of services including, Fire Safety Consultancy, Passive Fire Surveys, Stock Condition Surveys, Asbestos Management and Damp & Mould services.

Due to the healthy pipeline of work coming through into 2024, my client are in a position to take on more Fire Risk Assessors. As a Fire Risk Assessor, your role will include the following:

The jobholder will be accountable for assisting with the delivery of fire risk assessment, compartmentation surveys and other fire safety projects throughout the UK. The role will work principally with our Fire Safety Manager, Operations Managers, and the Fire Safety Team in supporting the delivery of fire safety programmes for our clients.

• Fire Risk Assessments – you will carry out type 1-3/4 fire risk assessments to a variety of building types and residential properties across several sectors (Housing, NHS, Education and Commercial). You will ensure we deliver ‘suitable and sufficient’ fire risk assessments with a high degree of quality and consistency.

• Fire Risk Assessment Reports – you will provide fire risk assessment reports (using our Clarity Platform) detailing the risks, significant findings, timed remedial actions and other non-timed recommendations in a timely manner, and no later than five days after the site visit.

• Fire Safety Action Plans – along with the fire risk assessment report you will provide a fire safety action plan detailing the risks, significant findings, timed remedial actions and other non-timed actions.
Validation of Fire Risk Assessments – you will validate fire risk assessment reports in accordance with the BAFE SP205 scheme, to challenge and scrutinise findings and to ensure the quality of fellow fire risk assessors’ work.

• Compartmentation Surveys – dependant on your level of knowledge, skills, and experience, you may be required to deliver compartmentation surveys. If you wish to do so, relevant training and development will be provided to enable this.

• Fire Door Audits – you will carry out fire door audits to a variety of building types and residential properties across several sectors (Housing, NHS, Education and Commercial). You will ensure we deliver ‘suitable and sufficient’ fire door audits in accordance with the requirements, with a high degree of quality and consistency. Relevant training and development will be provided if required to enable this.

As a Fire Risk Assessor for my client, you will need demonstrate a minimum of 3+ years experience in Fire Risk Assessments, Level 3+ Diploma in Fire Risk Assessments, NEBOSH General Certificate and FDIS.
