We are seeking a Semi Skilled Operator Fabrication to join our Client in Wythenshawe but in July 2024 job role will be relocated to Hindley Green in Wigan . ( Mileage allowance paid)
Duties:
* To perform various Operator’s tasks in the Fabrication Department in the Press Shop and Paint Plant area to the required standards, and as instructed by either the Production Controller, Team Leader, or Manager.
* To Operate all equipment to current health and safety standards.
* Update Gemba production recording efficiently and accurately as required.
* To observe the company’s Fire, health, and safety rules along with any other applicable policies including near misses.
* Carry out any other duties within the scope of the job as requested by the Team Leader, Production Controller or Manager of the department.
* To continuously improve and understand your work centre’s performance through KPI’s and the deployment of LEAN Manufacturing and 3i suggestions.
* To demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed, and flexible attitude towards customers and other team members, recognizing the importance and benefits of effective teamwork.
* Always comply with the data protection act.
* To operate punch and bend power presses along with other associated machinery to the correct drawing specification required as well as to operate or work in the paint plant safely and efficiently.
* To perform any auxiliary jobs related to the paint plant.
* To handle the finished products and transfer them to the internal customers.
* Train other employees (including apprentices) to Operate the machinery safely.
* To carry out and record daily safety checks before using equipment, and to report any faults to Supervision immediately.
* To download programs and drawings to correct issue level from the database using a PC.
* To use various types of measuring equipment to ensure work is to the correct standard to drawing.
Skills
* Good standard Math's and numeracy levels required.
* Good IT skills required.
* Some experience of operating CNC Machine Tools.
* Previous experience of Power Press equipment would be beneficial.
* Previous experience of working on a Paint Plant would be beneficial.
* Previous experience of working as a material handler
* To have at least 1 year experience (after training) of Power Press brake operating.
* To be mechanically minded and be able to read drawings and use measuring equipment to basic standards.
* To be a quick learner.
* To be able to function with minimum supervision and understand clear concise instructions.
* Hard working, reliable and well organised. Should also be able to communicate at all levels and be willing to implement new ideas. Should be calm under pressure, and have the flexibility required for this varied yet rewarding role.
Working hours
Monday – Wednesday 6.00am – 15.45pm
Thursday 6.00am – 15.15pm
Payrate: £12.10 per hr
