SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant position in Stockport

Position: SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Stockport
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Role and Responsibilities:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with autism within the EYFS setting, ensuring their individual needs are met and they are fully included in all activities.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and interventions to support the child's learning and development.
Foster a supportive and nurturing relationship with the child, building trust and rapport to facilitate their engagement and progress.
Adapt and differentiate activities and resources to meet the child's specific learning needs and preferences.
Monitor and record the child's progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher and SENCO to inform future planning and support strategies.Requirements:

Experience working with children with autism and/or other special educational needs, preferably within an educational setting.
Understanding of autism and knowledge of strategies and interventions to support children with autism in an educational setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents/carers.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the holistic development and well-being of children with special educational needs.
Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, would be advantageous.Benefits:
