Electrical Design Engineer now being sought to join a dynamic and aspiring company with over 25 years’ experience in the field of advanced industrial automation.

Electrical Design Engineer

£40,000 - £50,000 + paid overtime, pension & 25 days holiday
38 hour week – early Friday finish.
Cheshire based.

Electrical Design Engineer – The Role:

Use EPlan software to produce accurate, functional & cost-effective electrical system designs
Use discussions and technical documents to determine customer requirements
Produce customer documentation - functional design specifications & system manuals
Create accurate 2D layout drawings for electrical panel build system IO layout
Liaise with suppliers to determine appropriate component selection
Produce bills of materials (BOMs) accurately
Support the commissioning team to ensure successful FAT and SAT
Carry out design calculations either by hand or using software to verify suitability and performance
Collaborate with the wider design teams and departments to improve functions and processes & participate in design reviews
Electrical Design Engineer – The Person:

Degree level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering / 6+ years’ industry experience
Extensive experience with electrical design software – preferable EPlan
Experience with hand calculations for drive systems, electrical loadings and current ratings etc.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with excellent time management & the ability to prioritise
Flexibility for occasional travel throughout the UK and abroad
Prior experience in bespoke/special purpose machine building and design
Experience with robotics, automation, vision and sensing systems would be beneficial
Ability to deal with customers, suppliers and internal departments
An understanding and experience of UKCA/CE Technical file creation including carrying out risk assessments
Situated in the North West region, this position would be ideal for candidates residing in Manchester, Oldham, Ashton-under-Lyne, Denton, Stockport, Cheadle & all surrounding areas
