We have an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing Principal Contractors in the UK construction industry to support their in-house Health & Safety Manager. About You:
• Do you have a real passion for H&S and ideally have experience of working in a similar health and safety role within the Construction Industry and prepared to proactively develop as a H&S professional, undertaking a programme of training and continuing professional development.
• Do you hold a NEBOSH National Construction Certificate (or working towards it), in addition Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety Practice (would be an advantage).
• Do you have the ability to engage and communicate effectively with employees, managers, and contractors.
• Are you Self-motivated, tenacious and have the ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced ever changing environment.
• Are you approachable with the ability to work with employees and managers in a supportive/collaborative way.
• Are you computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office Packages
• Are you a well organised, professional and able to work under pressure.
• You will be responsible for achieving objectives on your own initiative, as well as part of a team.
• Are you able to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and pay attention to detail.
• Do you have a good understanding of legal requirements and compliance.
• Do you hold a full valid driving licence.

Job Description:
• Working with/supporting our H&S Manager in the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the H&S management system.
• Review RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Carry out site H&S inspections to identify unsafe equipment, working conditions, practices, fire hazards and then produce reports using I Auditor software with recommendations regarding the correction of any noncompliance.
• Willingness to regularly travel to construction sites regionally which possibly may include overnight stays.
• Manage accident and incident reporting and associated paperwork.
• Attend H&S meetings with Senior Managers and Directors.
• Produce and present reports for management review of all data and trends analysis and work with all employees as necessary to achieve KPI’s.
• Assist in the implementation of the Health & Safety Management System to BS ISO 45001: 2018.
• Carry out any other reasonable ad hoc duties required to support the Health and Safety Manager and Directors as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent qualification is essential and an NVQ 6 Occupational Health and Safety Practice would be advantageous.
Further construction-relevant certification is desirable but not essential.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant industry software.
Full UK driving licence
