The Role
As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will fulfil and manage the procurement process of various major projects across industries including oil and gas and Nuclear. You will control the procurement process from cradle to grave and therefore will need substantial subcontracting experience.
Key Activities
As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will work within a cross-functional team to lead the procurement process on major projects. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Proposals team with procured items and subcontracts for work and managing the Procurement Plan throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Managing the tendering process, including commercial clarifications, and liaising with others for technical and quality requirements. You will also select and propose the pricing and lead team information to be used by the Proposals Team.
Being a Procurement Specialist, you will manage change orders, organise kick off meetings, expedite requirements, and create package strategies.
Work with the engineering team to ensure robust scopes of work packages are created, that suit standards that our approved supply chain can offer.
Ensure all other requirements are included, for example quality, health and safety, project controls etc.
Perform full tender assessments to ensure the most economically advantageous tender is selected, managing the technical, quality and HSE elements.
Experience & Qualifications
A proven track record in a senior procurement role within a project environment, managing multiple subcontract packages of work simultaneously.
Membership of appropriate professional body, i.e. CIPS.
5+ years' experience of creating, negotiating, and managing NEC forms of subcontract. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical, control and instrumentation packages, general plant and equipment, site services, professional services, and subcontract management and procurement thereof.
