Our client is looking for a Modular Engineering Lead for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen.

ROLE

Responsible for establishment of the Modular Engineering Delivery Framework (MEDF) across the full lifecycle phases of Concept, FEED and Execute. Key focus on developing cross-discipline solutions that support a multi-market modular business from Proof of Concept (PoC) to serial manufacturing, with design standards to drive simplified and repeatable designs.

Working across the existing Engineering Delivery Framework (EDF), to maximize common standards and approaches where possible, but ensuring efficiencies are delivered of the focused Modular markets. Engineering System adoption that is sympathetic to that adopted within Brownfield Services & Projects, but groundbreaking in terms of leading-edge approaches, such as the application the most effective level of Build Information Management, specific to the multi-market workscopes that will be the focus for Modular.

Developing efficient estimating norms to support fast-track tendering requests
Working across Fabrication Outfitting services and Commissioning to deliver efficiencies and removing unnecessary design activities (standard and generic details, supported by schedules). 
Creating effective methods to build opportunities for Asset Maintenance via design, into the operational phase.
Developing key supplier interfaces to reduce duplication or unnecessary preferential engineering.
Participates within engineering planning and drives innovative solutions, technology advances and promotion of cost-effective workshare solutions if applicable.  
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Developing a Eng/Design roadmap for Modular, including system adoption to manage multi-discipline design to enable the use of standards and catalogued items.
Responsible for all Tender and overall use of simplified design approaches.
Able to clearly articulate the interface points across all disciplines and drive for efficiencies.
Ensures engineering risk reviews are regularly conducted upon the contract and awareness of other EPC progress at the required interface point
Ensuring appropriate peer reviews are carried out to ensure proper engineering risk mitigation is applied during key design activities
Captures knowledge of and continual learning into future designs activities
Works to resolve inter-discipline, vendor, and third party (Client) issues.
Ensures discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
Supports management of project change and progressing for the discipline and works with other members of the Project Management Team to take corrective actions regarding any issues, staffing requirements, scope changes, progressing, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.
Ensures inter-discipline quality, drives and participates in IDC, monitors quality activities, recommends improvements, and takes action where required.
Monitoring and reporting overall progress across Modular Engineering/Design team and awareness of progress of other EPC delivery performance
Identifying and resolving sub optimal contract productivity and identifying root cause for poor engineering performance across contract.
Ensuring project change management complies with company processes.
Attendance at weekly interface meetings attended by client and other EPC companies and clearly articulating and documenting contract interface needs
Works with construction personnel to ensure best fit solution and resolution of general constructability issues early in design

Ensuring constructability and safe installation methodology is shared and continually updated across Contract Engineering team (through Progressive Learning).
REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications:

HNC qualified in relevant Engineering discipline
Desirable:

Degree qualified in relevant Engineering discipline
APMQ qualification
Awareness and application of BIM upon a project
Experience:

Extensive experience in the Manufacturing or Oil & Gas 
Excellent leadership qualities, effective team and scope management
Previous experience as Lead Discipline Engineer or equivalent.
Experience in project management, risk management, quality, procurement, or construction execution
