Job Summary:
The Senior Procurement Specialist will be responsible for leading the procurement efforts of the company, focusing on strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and cost management. The individual will play a key role in developing and executing procurement strategies to optimize technology investments and ensure the continuous flow of goods and services necessary for our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective acquisition of IT hardware, software, and services.
Lead the negotiation process with suppliers to secure competitive prices and favorable terms.
Manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors, conducting regular reviews to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
Collaborate with IT and other departments to understand their procurement needs and specifications.
Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies.
Oversee the procurement process from requisition to receipt, including order placement, tracking, and verification of delivery and invoice accuracy.
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
Develop and maintain a supplier management program that evaluates performance, risk, and procurement efficiencies.
Implement cost-saving initiatives and negotiate contracts that optimize expenditure.
Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, savings, and challenges to senior management.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, specifically in an IT or technology-focused environment.
Strong understanding of IT products and services, including software licensing, hardware procurement, and cloud services.
Proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficient in procurement software and tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred.
Working Conditions:
This role may require occasional travel to meet with suppliers or attend industry events.
