Working in Royston, within this newly created Assistant Buyer position, you will see yourself joining a pre-existing team of 7 buyers for a 12-month period. You'll be instrumental in ensuring the team are able to manage their workloads and the department continues to function smoothly and the increased workload is managed.

On a day-to-day level you will be involved with;
Placing purchase orders for both materials and services
Working with sub-contractors to ensure deliveries of materials are organised and tracked in the system
Expedition of purchase orders
Keeping on-top of unexpected delays in the procurement chain
Supporting Vendor Management meetings
The ideal candidate for this position will have previously worked in a manufacturing / engineering environment, have used ERP systems such as SAP, have a strong understanding of MS Excel and ideally be CIPS qualified (desirable, not essential).
You'll be a natural problem solver, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, have excellent written and verbal communication skills along with effective time management and organisational skills.
