An industry leader in commercial HVAC product manufacturing is current seeking an Associate Sales Engineer to be based in Portsmouth, VA. Responsibilities include participating in the sales efforts by acting as a technical expert with internal and external stakeholders. This position is an onsite position at the corporate headquarters with a 30% travel requirement.
RESPONSIBILITES
Participate in the sales process by attending sales meetings and act as technical expert to make recommendations on product solution design, additional product upsell opportunity, & implementation insight
Evaluates customer orders and makes suggestion for most efficient use of product with respect to application, space and airflow, providing a customized solution to the customer’s needs
Develop company branding and value add with clients by presenting in depth technical insight to product and company capabilities
Assist implementation and product application by reviewing bill of material (BOM) quotations for accuracy and make recommendations on alternative product recommendations if needed
Provide engineering support and/or training to company personnel and/or representatives
Become a product champion by attending trade shows and representing the company at industry trade organizations
Provide technical support during and after the sales process to ensure proper utilization of the product for customer satisfaction and to identify additional sales opportunities
Participate and provide support for software updates and integration
Other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed
Requirements
BA or MA in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university required
0-1 years’experience providing technical support for precision manufactured products
Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external teams to ensure critical information is provided to the necessary stakeholders
Ability to analyze complex business situations and interpret data to present solutions that optimize customer efficiency and overall profitability
