To maintain and develop the Trust's internal communications channels and provide advice and guidance on employee communications best practice.

Description

Internal Communications Officer Duties

To assist in developing and implementing the employee communications strategy.

In consultation with the Stakeholder Engagement Team assist in enhancing media coverage of the Trust.

Under the guidance of the Communication and Communities Manager provide professional advice and guidance to the business on employee communications best practice and appropriate use of channels.

Help maintain and develop the company Intranet in line with the Trust's employee communications strategy.

Manage the design, organisation and delivery of employee events under the guidance of the Communication and Communities Manager, Employee Development Manager and other team members as appropriate.

Develop, plan and deliver internal campaigns - working in consultation with the Stakeholder Engagement Team where appropriate

Manage the coordination and delivery of internal print projects including copywriting, proofing and approval of employee publications and collateral to support the work of the Employee Engagement Team. To support the development and implementation of corporate employee identity/branding policies, managing, monitoring and coordinating all corporate promotions and events as appropriate to enhance the brand.

Monitor the use of internal branding, maintain the Trust's reputation and corporate identity with employees in line with style and brand guidelines.

Where required participate in the Trust's response to crisis situations and business continuity plans.

Brief and liaise with external agencies and suppliers, where applicable work within allocated budgets paying due regard to value for money.

Record and track all communications activity using the Vuelio system - including the daily logging of enquiries.

Comply with regulatory requirements and work within relevant legal boundaries eg data protection, copyright and defamation laws.

To undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility as may be required from time to time.

Profile

As the Internal Communications Officer you will be:

Educated to degree level of equivalent.

Relevant corporate communications experience working and liaising at a senior level.

Media and publicity experience - written, radio, television and other media.

Experience of production of magazines / newspapers / journals / newsletters / web sites / intranets.

Used to working in an environment that promotes corporate image and a positive media profile.

Working with communications, marketing and research agencies.

Competencies

Excellent verbal, written and graphical appreciation skills.

Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, persuasiveness.

Strong project planning skills.

Excellent organisational, planning and research capability with ability to work under pressure.
