We are seeking a dedicated PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant, small Pupil Referral Unit based in Greenwich. This is your chance to step into a meaningful role where you'll work closely with students who require additional support to achieve their full potential.
About the Role:
As a PRU Teaching Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in providing individualised support to students within the Pupil Referral Unit. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting the classroom teacher in implementing tailored learning plans for students.
Providing one-on-one support to students with diverse learning needs, including behavioral, emotional, and social challenges.
Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Collaborating with the teaching team to develop strategies for promoting positive behavior and academic progress.
Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as needed.
Supporting students during transitions and helping them develop essential life skills.Requirements:
Previous experience working with students in a PRU or similar setting is preferred but not essential.
A passion for working with young people and making a positive impact on their lives.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
