Job Title: Strategic Finance Manager

Location: Westminster, London

Contract Type: 3-Month Contract

Pay: £504/day (Hybrid Working)

Role Overview: As the Strategic Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership to our Housing and Planning finance team, overseeing both capital and revenue setting and monitoring. You will play a pivotal role in delivering medium-term financial plan, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines for the publication and auditing of our annual accounts, and managing the group accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Director of Finance to drive change across the Finance Leadership Team, aligning with our Fairer Westminster commitments.
Develop and deliver a new service offer to key stakeholders, measuring feedback regularly to ensure effectiveness.
Act as an active ambassador for the Council's Diversity and Inclusion ambitions.
Future-proof the finance team by facilitating skill acquisition and knowledge sharing among team members.
Provide leadership that empowers staff to recognise their contribution to the Council's strategic objectives.
Foster a high-performance culture through internal service reviews aimed at improving value for money and efficiency.
Lead and motivate staff through coaching, mentoring, training, and professional development opportunities.Requirements:

Proven experience in strategic financial management, ideally within a public sector or local authority setting.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and inspire teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments and lead teams through transition.
Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
