Culinary Development Chef – Innovation, Creativity & Training

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a Culinary Development Chef to join BD Group to influence brand development, create strategic menus, empower teams, and ensure excellence across our region. The role holder will collaborate closely with the Head of Food and Nutritionist to craft a well-balanced and lucrative menu, introducing fresh concepts and culinary innovations to enhance business growth.

Duties:

The responsibilities will include meticulous cost analysis of proposed menus, while also disseminating technical expertise and emerging trends across the organisation. Maintaining transparent communication with Operational Chefs and other teams, facilitating seamless integration of new menus and concepts through training initiatives. Regular presentations to management and collaboration with Marketing will drive product promotion strategies. Additionally, liaising with suppliers to secure top-notch ingredients and provide support for high-profile events. The role extends to troubleshooting on-site as needed and supporting food service expansion across various sectors. Guiding chefs to uphold quality standards and compliance forms a crucial aspect of your leadership responsibilities, alongside ensuring adherence to health, safety, and regulatory protocols.

Qualifications & Experience:

English and Maths qualification.
Full clean UK driving Licence.
Experience of working and developing menus in a quality driven and diverse, commercial environment.
Significant experience of working in innovative food environments where exceptional standards of food quality and modern food production techniques are key components.
Ability to influence and inspire at all of levels of the organisation.
Demonstrable history of developing a culinary concept into a compelling product proposition.
Proven track record in food production in a large-scale Catering Environment with a particular focus on food production and quality.
Clear track record of culinary skills in a commercial environment with focus on cost management and cost analysis.
Considerable experience in a Catering, Hospitality, Events and service in leadership/management role.
Experience of delivering catering in a corporate environment with a 5 Star Service.
Familiar with operational excellence techniques/philosophy.
Excellent relationship management at all levels.
High level of practical knowledge of all soft services or relevant technical qualification. Demonstrate energy, drive, innovation, and enthusiasm – an essential skill to work with on-site clients in a fast performance driven financial services environment.
Working Arrangements:

Working pattern: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Typically core hours will range from 7am till 3.30pm).
Number of working weeks: 52 weeks (Annual leave to be taken during school half term).
Location: Our Head Office is based in Dagenham East this role will require regular attendance at our head office and multiple sites we operate in (London/Essex).
