Our client is a specialist consulting firm in the telecommunications, media, and technology sector with a client base including the likes of BT, Liberty Global, Sky, Vodafone, AT&T, Cisco, Ericsson, and many more customers. 
 
The client is medium-sized (split between UK / USA) and therefore looking for candidates that can have a big impact on their business - this opportunity is not with one of the major service integrators / outsourcing companies but a focused European business that is strong within it's niche domains across Telecommuncations, Media and Technology.
 
Candidates should therefore have some domain knowledge across (not all of) Telco Networks, OSS/BSS, Cloud Evolution, Investment, Telco M&A, video/Media/broadcast, Infrastructure Migration, Legacy Decommissioning, Experience of running a practice / BU and being able to create new proposition is a much have.

Consultancy VP
Location: UK – London Office Based but with Flexibility (must be willing to travel)
 
My client is looking for an exceptional leader, known industry SMEs and key members of the EMEA leadership team, they are
 
accountable for;
1. Defining and delivering domain focus and expertise
2. Leading high-profile strategy customer relationships and client engagements
3. Delivering revenue and gross margin vs ambitious financial targets
4. Producing and ownership of a growth strategy for their domain
5. Actively supporting the management and development of our clients consultancy capability
and proposition set, ensuring our client's skillset is capable of supporting the direction of the
business
 
6. Front-line client and engagement management
Key Responsibilities:
Top-to-bottom accountability for a consultancy ‘domain’ including;
 Defining and delivery of an end-to-end business plan for domain
o Full P&L management – Including revenue and gross margin construct
o Definition of the Strategic direction and quantification of the business business benefit
o Go-to-market strategy
o Realistic/Costed Investment requirements
 Client management (including full commercial ownership)
 Exceptional Client Delivery Engagement/Delivery Management –
o Hands-on delivery leadership of strategic consulting engagements
o Including full commercial and governance accountability (ensuring timely financial
closure)
 
Working as a key member of the EMEA executive leadership and sales team;
 Commercial accountability for the delivery of revenue and gross margin objectives
 Timely compliance to all financial management and reporting requirements (CRM, Finance)
 Key member of the ‘selling community’
 Ability to seek/drive and work collaboratively with Selling Partner peers to identify and
secure ‘other domain’ opportunities
 
Line Management of consultancy team;
 Provide line management, as part of a matrixed management organisation, to the consultancy base – Compliance with all HR/Line Management Policies
 Support the consultancy career framework – Enabling our consultancy team to develop and
grow
 Contribute to the delivery capability of the organisation through the development of best
practice and the delivery of support materials
 
Proposition Development
 Ownership of the domain sales propositions
 Creation of new propositions, with targeted market opportunity , supporting the growth ambition of the domain/business
 Production/refinement of all supporting external and internal marketing collateral
 Working with Marketing colleagues to define and delivery focused marketing campaigns and leverage conference plans
 
Knowledge and competencies:
A ‘big hitting’ consultancy subject matter expert …
 
 A trusted / known SME in Telco (Telco Networks, OSS/BSS, Cloud Evolution, Investment, Telco M&A,
Video, Media, broadcast, Infrastructure Migration, Legacy Decommissioning) with a proven track record in delivering new business targets and new client acquisition through consultative and relationship selling
 Extensive strategy consulting experience across the TMT sector at Manager Level of above
 A strategic thinker with demonstrable commercial empathy and the ability to clearly articulate
a succinct and quantified business plan
 A confident line manager with the ability to drive/enthuse/develop a skilled consultancy team
 An experienced client and engagement manager, with a proven track record of ‘delivering’
 Preferably a qualified professional and / or member of an industry body in the IT, computer
science, engineering or telecommunications space
 Desire and ability to learn the characteristics of new emerging technologies quickly and to
make educated predictions about their applicability to particular classes of business problems
 Commercially aware; able to align technical decisions with business objectives, translate
technical designs into business cases and make investment recommendations based on the
understanding of technology; comfortable building cost models, negotiating with suppliers
and quantifying risks
 Able to deliver structured messages in public, comfortable with public speaking, e.g. at
conferences, and authoring whitepapers to further advance our client's market standing
 Educated to degree level or with equivalent professional experience

solidify rules of engagement and business requirements
 
Other requirements:
 Comfortable with travel and working on customer sites, sometimes embedded within
customer teams, including commuting across the UK and overseas within EMEA and
occasionally beyond for up to 5 days a week
 Legally authorised to work in the UK (or has an EU passport)
 Willing to undergo BS, CTC or SC Clearance, depending on circumstances and eligibility
 Very good communication skills, proficiency in English (other languages an advantage)
