We have an exciting role for a confident Junior CAD Designer to join our client who specialise in commercial interior design / modular permanent and temporary steelwork structures events including Formula E exhibitions, BMW showcases and many more events.
Key Responsibilities:
● Work as part of the design team to understand project concepts and requirements
based on the client’s brief.
● Create conceptual or working models using Sketchup to reflect project requirements
and the client brief, using the structural components
● Produce technical documentation (AutoCAD), including kit lists, construction
drawings, component sections, typical 4 views to communicate critical information
to clients and fabricators.
● Collaborate with the build team to identify key information for the build pack and
create standardised processes and templates to ensure smooth and reliable
installations and reduce errors on site.
● Maintain regular communication with the wider design team, providing project
updates and timelines.
● Support the New business team, producing detailed models in Sketchup to the
required brief to be costed up and added to client presentations.
Requirements:
● BSc/BA in 3D Design, architectural or a related field
● Proficiency in SketchUp Pro, AutoCAD for drafting in both 2D and 3D formats.
● Understanding of visual elements (layout, type and fonts)
● A working knowledge of fabrication (mainly in metal and wood), construction
methods, and material tolerances.
● Solid understanding of construction materials and working practices
● Creative and problem-solving skills
