Role Overview: As the Head of Physics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction of the Science department. You will lead a team of dedicated educators, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where students thrive and achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity to drive forward the teaching and learning of Physics within a forward-thinking academy.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Physics department, ensuring alignment with the school's overall objectives.
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of passionate Physics teachers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Design and deliver engaging and challenging Physics curriculum, tailored to meet the needs of students across all key stages (11-18).
Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, implementing effective strategies for improvement where necessary.
Ensure effective assessment and tracking of student progress, using data to inform teaching practice and intervention strategies.
Collaborate with colleagues across the Science department and wider school community to promote cross-curricular initiatives and enrichment opportunities.
Foster strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders, promoting a shared commitment to student achievement and well-being.Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Physics or a related field.
Significant experience teaching Physics at secondary level, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
Previous leadership experience within a Science department or similar educational setting, demonstrating the ability to lead and inspire colleagues (desireable).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students, staff, and parents alike.
