Shift (Track) Supervisor
Hours 12:30 - 21:00
Purpose of the role
To support the Track Manager in leading and overseeing all warehouse functions that take place on the Mid shift. Coordinating the warehouse operatives (Pick, Stock and Logistics) to ensure all work is executed efficiently and accurately. Helping to manage and adhering to set and agreed KPIs and managing your direct reports in conjunction with these KPIs. Overseeing all warehouse processes ensuring they are being carried out correctly and highlighting areas for improvement. Being a positive and motivational influence for your direct reports (Warehouse operatives & Admin Team). Taking full responsibility for warehouse standards. This role is a vital link between the shop floor and the warehouse management and is a great opportunity for you to help develop the operation and move us onto the next level as well as developing yourself and your team.
The main objectives of this role are as follows (but are not limited too):
* Be the example to follow
* Communicate organizational needs – pre-shift briefs, direct communications, emails.
* Provide guidance for tasks in hand
* Reporting to, and deputizing for the Track Manager
* Communicate with seniors
* Support team members
* Manage workflow
* Motivate warehouse operatives to do their best work
* Provide support for export & Morning shift to ensure all orders go out on time in full and reach deadlines and satisfy customer needs
* To make sure every new starter is fully trained to expectations
* Understanding of processing of orders in the MACS WMS (Warehouse Management System).
* Running end of day reports
* Provide reports and activity updates to management
* Identifying and resolving workplace problems
* Provide real-time feedback on warehouse Track performance
* Enforce safety rules to new starters and safety policies
* Have good communication skills
* Have detailed knowledge about how the Track operation processes are managed
* Have an understanding about how every shift operates and what each other team / supervisor does within their role
* Have a continuous improvement mind set – apply this to your everyday way of working.
* Be willing to adapt and learn new skills within BGA
Criteria
Training & Experience
Essential
- Experience in using MS Office software (Excel, Word & Outlook).
- Experience in a warehouse environment
Desirable
- Experience using our Warehouse Management system.
- Experience in a Supervisory role
Knowledge & Personal Skills
Essential
- Managing a time critical operation
- Comfortable working alone, contributing to the team’s goals.
- Analytical thinker.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
Desirable
- Experience dealing with a lot of data and being able to draw conclusions from it.
- Mentor and train inexperienced staff
- Willing to challenge staff on inefficiencies and metrics
