We are currently recruiting for a leading compressed air specialist company who are focused on delivering solutions that work, incorporating technology and features designed for the customer, that are reliable and economical engineered to optimise efficiency and safety in the industrial, automotive, food, medical and professional sectors. Due to the growth of the company and looking to move into the industrial market, they are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Sales Manager to cover the South of the UK.

The purpose of the role will be to maximise and grow the sales of the Power System branded products including industrial air compressors and ancillary equipment across the UK through new and existing distributors, OEM’s and other customers in accordance with agreed business plans & budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

* Identifying new sales opportunities by market research and by use of a data base.

* Promote Power System products and/or services to new and developing customers.

* Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers to maximise opportunities.

* Identifying market trends and opportunities to develop the sales mission.

* Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect interaction towards achieving agreed business aims, including sales growth and profitability.

* Drive a value based sales approach promoting Power System products features and benefits through site surveys, effective analysis of the costs and energy usages associated with compressed air equipment (equipment data logging) and any other means.

* Maintain regular interaction with all customers, especially key distributor accounts.

* Develop strong customer relationships at all levels with all accounts and ensure an excellent standard of after sales service is provided.

* Provide sales data, monthly reports, and the timely recording of visit and action reports (including lost order reports) and analysis of sales performance against budgets.

* Understand the gaps and grow market share in the area.

* Attend company and sales meetings.

* Attend training and develop relevant knowledge and skills.

* Writing up activity reports, monitoring sales reports, and revenue forecasts.

* Completing all documentation and administrative records, fully and accurately.

* Developing and maintaining a database of all contacts.

Desirables:

* Proven experience in a similar sales role, preferably in the compressed air industry.

* Knowledge of compressors or similar industrial equipment.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

* Results-oriented with ability of meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Product dimensions:

Core product range of: Typically, although not limited to, all Industrial, and other air compressors, aftermarket products and services, and all associated ancillary equipment and spare parts.

Target sectors: All opportunities available via Authorised Distribution, OEM, On-Line and other sales channel.

Prospect database: Various internal

Customer base of: All potential compressed air resellers and users within the UK

Typical account value: £100 to £300,000
