We’re working with an established, growing civil engineering contractor who are expanding their commercial team and looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. In Hampshire they have excellent relationships with private clients, local councils, the EA, private developers and various wildlife trusts which brings a steady workflow and security to the region.
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will work on a mixture of projects which will include, piling works, embankment stablisations, fish passes, wildlife tunnels/bridges, canal maintenance, beach replenishment as well as one-off larger projects up to £10m on infrastructure such as bridges and roundabouts. Projects will range in duration and value.
Duties include:
* Working with the project team to record costs, change and variation
* Making applications for payments
* Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractors
* Minimise cost and risk of the project and enhance value for money
* Provide commercial support to the engineering staff on site and carry out measures
* Manage costs and budget in line with the NEC contract
