Accountant

Venture Recruitment Partners are working with a professional services firm in Southsea, Portsmouth. The client is looking to recruit an Accountant on a permanent basis. The sits with a growing team, supported by a team of both commercial and technical individuals.

Key Accountabilities

Preparation and submission of statutory accounts.
Preparation of tax returns and assessments for a range of organisational structures.
Assist with VAT returns.
Some audit work, though the role is principally accounts-focused.
Manage workflow and ensure client work is completed and delivered to a high standard and in a timely manner.
Liaise with HMRC on client matters.
Confidently liaise with clients, attending meetings and helping with queries.
Support with general accountancy services and business advice.
Manage a diverse and impressive portfolio of clients.
Provide training and development for junior staff.
Work closely with senior team members.
Promote and strive for customer service excellence.
Assist with ad-hoc projects as required.
Skills, knowledge and Experience

It would be useful if you have the below:

Part qualified / finalist / qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with 3 years + experience within a finance role
Being able to build and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders and be confident enough to challenge when necessary.
Proactive individual with experience working in a flexible and changing environment
Excellent communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
