Our client based in Reading is now looking for a skilled Upholsterer to join the team.
2 years exp in making office furniture needed.
Salary: From £26-£32K pa depending on experience based on experience
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:30, Friday 07:30-16:00 (44 hours per week)
Products: Office Furniture
Duties:
* Cut and apply foam and upholstery fabric
* Experience working with a variety of upholstery materials
* Sewing and cutting skills
* Strip down and re-upholster furniture, using supplied and own-made templates
* Apply buttoning and cushioning
* Use hand and air compressor tools
* Fix webbing and springs into seats
* Cover frames with padding and fabric using sewing machines, stitches, staples, tacks and glue
* Use decorative techniques such as fringing, piping and buttoning
* Renovate and re-upholstering old furniture
* Cut wood to replace damaged seat boards etc

* to be thorough and pay attention to detail
* the ability to work well with your hands
* the ability to use your initiative
* to be flexible and open to change
* potential work on Saturdays (if needed)
* knowledge of manufacturing production and processes
* design skills and knowledge
* the ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools
* the ability to work well with others
* confident to complete work onsite at offsite premises
* strong work ethic, resilient, self-starter and a can do attitude
