Workshop Plant Mechanic required. Our client is one of the biggest construction companies in europe. They are now looking for a Workshop Plant Mechanic due to the continuous growth of the business. This is for their Southampton based site.
Successful candidates will be working within a team, servicing and repairing a variety of plant and equipment in a buy workshop environment with occasional external client projects. Candidates will work within the Operational Team to continually improve safety, systems, processes and provide continued training and product knowledge.
Workshop Plant Mechanic Position Overview
Carry out workplace risk assessments on own and with team.
Resolve technical problems relating to plant and equipment and share knowledge, use own initiative whilst on-site.
Carry out and record regular plant inspections.
Carry out schedule servicing in accordance with manufactures specifications.
Maintain internal plant to Site Solutions standards.
Carry out on and off hire PDI inspections to Site Solutions standards.
Carry out pre- through examination inspections.
Lead the familiarisation or provide advice to others (apprentices / operators) in the safe operation and correct maintenance of plant
Advise / seek advice on the modification and development of plant to ensure compliance with Change Control Procedures
Identify opportunities to implement new technology.
Carry out daily/weekly work programmes set by manager.
Carry out workload in collaboration with operational teams.
Train, mentor and develop others
Maintain personal diary/CPD record/ to demonstrate career development CV
Record all work carried out within company electronic system
Carry out workshop inspections as instructed.
Ensure compliance with company and legislative safety and environment requirements.
Assist with implementation of Your Safety is My Safety
Workshop Plant Mechanic Position Requirements
NVQ level 2/3 plant maintenance, time served or mechanic background (HGV mechanic etc)
Workshop Plant Mechanic Position Remuneration
Salary: £35,934.60
Working hours: 42.5 hour - 1 hour lunch
Holiday Package: 22 days + 8BH
