We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to provide support and guidance to teenagers in a semi-independent living setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by teenagers transitioning to independence and will be able to create a supportive and nurturing environment. As Support Worker you will deliver the highest standards of support, protection and support to Children and Young People by facilitating their physical and psychological needs.

This role is made up of 4 long shifts with sleep-ins per week where you are lone working in the home.

Responsibilities:

1. Individualised Support: Provide individualised support to teenagers in the semi-independent living program, addressing their unique needs and goals.

2. Life Skills Development: Assist teenagers in developing essential life skills, including budgeting, meal planning, time management, and self-care.

3. Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and encouragement to help teenagers build resilience and cope with the challenges they may face.

4. Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to handle crisis situations effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of the teenagers in the program.

5. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other support staff, social workers, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care plans for each teenager.

6. Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of teenagers, ensuring they have access to appropriate services and resources.

7. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each teenager's progress, including observations, incidents, and achievements.

8. Communication: Communicate regularly with teenagers, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to support.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working with teenagers in a support or care capacity is essential.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work independently and lone work.

* Crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
