Transport and Warehouse Supervisor

Location: Ferndown, Dorset

Job Overview: Adecco is assisting a leading manufacturing client in their search for a Transport and Warehouse Supervisor to join their dynamic and busy team. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products through the warehouse and transport system.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer and Supplier Liaison: Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and transport agencies.
Dispatch Planning: Organise and monitor the dispatch process to ensure timely deliveries.
Space and Equipment Utilisation: Efficiently use space and mechanical handling equipment to maintain product flow from goods in, through production, to goods out.
Stock Control: Update stock control systems and plan stock capacity requirements.
Health and Safety: Maintain high standards of health and safety within the warehouse and transport operations.
Transport Management: Oversee and manage transport schedules.
Team Management: Motivate, lead, and manage the warehouse and transport team, promoting a high standard of quality within the department.Required Skills and Qualifications:

Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Legal Knowledge: Understanding of the legal requirements for operating a warehouse and transport, including CPC, Tacho, and FORS.
People Management: Strong skills in managing people, including the ability to lead, motivate, delegate, and explain ideas effectively.
Planning and Organising: Excellent planning and organising skills.
Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team and inspire others.
Decision-Making: Initiative and decisiveness in problem-solving and decision-making.
Enthusiasm and Motivation: High levels of enthusiasm and the ability to motivate a team.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in technical and IT skills.
Pressure Handling: Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
