My client, a fibre optic company based near Fareham are currently looking for an Electronic Engineer to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

As an Electronic Engineer you will be carrying out planned and preventative electrical maintenance activities on the production plant and equipment. You will be using your diagnostics skills to fault find and purpose solutions with Opto-Electronic assemblies and components.

The role is a great blend of hands-on and desk-based engineering within the operation team, which requires strong problem-solving skills and logical approach, excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is a competent electrical engineer understanding electronics fundaments, circuit operation, basic components and has tenacious approach in solving engineering problems; happy to learn, share ideas and work as a team to test, develop and improve business products, processes and equipment.

Job Responsibility:

* Supporting the operations and engineering team though hands-on planned and preventive maintenance of electrical production equipment

* Building, modifying & commissioning Production Equipment

* Managing of engineering data (parts management, BoMs, routings, specifications, test requirements etc.)

* Generating production documentation such as assembly instructions, testing reports, certifications, or process improvements

* Identifying, designing, building, and implementing process & equipment improvements

* Provide support and training to technicians and other staff as necessary.

* Diagnosis and root cause of system and component failure

Ideal candidate will have the following:

* A hands-on and self-motivated team player with the ability to manage their own tasks with minimal supervision

* Meticulous and quality-focused with high levels of concentration and dexterity

* Strong communication with rapport skills and the ability to build relationships with employees and other stakeholders at different levels

* Ability to identify faults and debug issues with electronics systems at component, PCB, system level using standard test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes etc.)

* Aptitude in faultfinding and problem-solving and using core skills to install and repair electrical/electronic assemblies to component level

* A positive outlook on life, enjoying learning with optimism to have fun and take pride in their work
