About the Role

We currently have an opportunity to join our Pump Sales and Manufacturing team as a Finishing Technician, based on site at our Chandler’s Ford branch.

This is a hands-on manual role, to prepare pump assemblies for internal and external Customers within recognised timescales.

You’ll be following engineering drawings to specification in order to dress finished assemblies by cleaning and adding decals, vacuum and water testing and preparing finished goods for pre-delivery inspection.

Main Responsibilities:

* Follow method statements and standard operating procedures to ensure correct PPE is always worn, and SDS (Safety Data Sheets) including COSH data sheets are always followed.

* Ensure that any deviation from Finishing procedures is made known to the Production Management team so that suitable corrective action can be carried out.

* Follow engineering drawings for the application of decals to finished pump units.

* Update the production plan daily to ensure management can track pump locations in the finishing department.

* Pack and wrap as required all additional pump parts required i.e., bauers etc.

* Participate in continuous improvement activities to maximise output and quality.

* Ensure all fuel has been removed from finished pump units following test completion in preparation for shipment to Customers.

* Dressing of completed units prior to delivery.

* Complete any minor paint damage touch ups as and when required to ensure Pump units meet specifications prior to PDI (pre-delivery) Inspections.

* Work with Stores shipping team once completed pump units are ready for shipping.

Qualifications & Experience

* Basic Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to prepare and write detailed reports.

* Keen attention to detail, ensuring information is 100 percent accurate 100 percent of the time.

* Proven ability to plan and organise, problem solve and achieve results for self and the team.

* Confident clear communication skills, in all situations both internal and external.

* Establish cohesive working relationships with production and warehouse stakeholders with effective communication and agreed common goals.

Please note, Selwood provides the necessary PPE and workwear needed for this role.
