Join SYNLAB UK & Ireland's apprenticeship program and become a vital part of our team at Southwest Pathology Services (SPS) in Taunton. With our strong partnership with the NHS, we've been dedicated to enhancing healthcare services in Somerset for over a decade.

We are offering an 18-month apprenticeship opportunity for a Business Support Administrator within our committed, professional and friendly team in Taunton which will develop into a full time and permanent post upon completion of the apprenticeship. The successful candidate would provide all aspects of administrative support for designated departments within the business and participate in projects as directed.

About the Apprenticeship:

During this apprenticeship, you'll receive hands-on training, support and practical experience in various aspects of business support administration. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights into the healthcare industry and developing essential skills to excel in your role. Along with dedicated tutor support throughout the program, you would also gain a Level 3 in Business Administration.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is interested in Pathology that would like to develop core skills in Pathology, specimen reception, office administration, compliance, project support and PA.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Learning to handle confidential clinical information.

* Participating in meetings, taking accurate minutes and distributing them effectively.

* Providing professional front of house and customer service support to all users of the laboratory including engineers, visitors and patients.

* Monitoring the Business Support Outlook inboxes, responding to or redirecting queries where appropriate.

* Supporting all office administration duties, including answering telephones, drafting documents and correspondence, booking meetings and travel requirements.

* Participating in department audits and other quality assurance tasks.

Eligibility:

* Must have lived in the UK/EEA continuously for the last 3 years.

* Must be in a contract of employment for over 30 hours per week.

* Will not be undertaking any other qualification during this apprenticeship.

* Level 2 qualification in English / Maths (GCSE or equivalent) referred to as Functional Skills.

* Certificates must be presented as evidence before enrolment, failure to do so will result in learners having to complete Functional Skills.

Hours: 37.5 hours a week / Mon-Fri – 9am-5pm.
