Who we are
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is an organisation dedicated to honouring and caring for the graves and memorials of servicemembers who died in the two World Wars. The work of the commission is not only out on the field, but in our head office too, which contributes globally to the meaningful commemoration of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

What you'll be doing
This role involves shaping a new upcoming strategy to support our business plans. You'll manage third-party HR consultancy within budget, ensuring our policies stay current with employment laws within Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. You'll also handle a variety of casework and projects, develop business and people solutions, and work closely with the Chief People Officer on corporate projects.

In this role you will travel, sometimes at short notice, to support our teams in country as and when needed as issues arise.

Key tasks include advising on strategic people issues, overseeing pay reviews and international payroll, and managing union relationships. Plus, you'll lead the Area People team, coach on performance management, and implement learning and development strategies across many countries. The role also encompasses workforce planning, coordinating talent and succession planning, overseeing recruitment activities, and setting service standards for People services.

What you need to have
CIPD Level 7 qualified
Good knowledge of Employment Law, specifically across Africa, India, and the Middle East
Experience with payroll and budgets
Excellent communication skills, especially across different cultures
Confident managerial expertise
Strong experience working in HR
Strong understanding of Employment Law
Experience and familiarity with employment law across Africa, the India Sub-continent, and Middle East is an asset
