Highways Engineer

Rate: £25.13 per hour PAYE

Contract Length: 6 months

Work Pattern: Monday to Friday

Location: Bristol

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Highways Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of highway projects, ensuring they meet all technical standards and client requirements. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, surveyors, and construction managers, to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop detailed highway engineering solutions, including road layouts, junctions, and associated infrastructure.
Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather relevant data for project planning and design.
Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
Manage and oversee highway construction activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities to ensure project requirements and approvals are met.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to the project manager and clients.
Ensure projects are delivered within agreed time lines and budgets.

Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Extensive experience in highway engineering, including design, construction, and project management.
Proficient in using industry-standard software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage.
Strong understanding of highway design standards, regulations, and best practices.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
