We are seeking highly motivated and dynamic nuclear safety engineers with at least three years experience to join our Bristol team supporting key clients in the southwest. The successful candidates will support the delivery of technical engineering, safety case and project management to a number of major projects within the nuclear power generation sector. The main scope of work will be nuclear safety related tasks for Hinkley Point C supporting the progression of the site from construction into commissioning and operation.  
 
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role provides an opportunity to be part of an exciting, dynamic, and rapidly growing nuclear team across the south of England embedded with a key client. Typical responsibilities may include:

Generating key nuclear safety operating documentation.
Supporting nuclear safety related commissioning documentation.
Leading the delivery of major safety cases.
Providing specialist technical input and advice to resolve complex problems.
Production of formal technical reports, safety cases and other project deliverables on time and to budget.
Management of projects, project teams and interfacing with clients. 
The technical development and mentoring of our growing nuclear team is a key benefit of this role, as well as having the opportunity to support the development of wider company initiatives, such as industry networking and learning, developing training courses, development of techniques and toolkits to deliver more efficiently. The role also provides the potential to support other Risktec sectors such as oil and gas, clean energy, transport, defence, and conventional power in the future.
 
Within Risktec’s wider portfolio of work in the nuclear field across southern England, there could also be opportunities to work on safety cases for major plant modifications at Sizewell B, system engineering at Hinkley Point B, safety case documentation for SMR Generic Design Assessments, large safety cases managed by EDF Design Authority, and Safety Case production for Sizewell C.

Implementation of modifications to plant, including:
Undertaking plant obsolescence assessments.
Reviewing design proposals and producing design substantiation reports.
Authoring testing and commissioning strategies and functional test procedures.
Support to plant operability, including:
Supporting equipment reliability reviews, including plant walk downs.
Reviewing maintenance routines/strategy.Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:

A proven track record in maintaining engineering systems, commissioning new plant and/or delivering nuclear safety cases.
A drive to ensure successful delivery and continuous client satisfaction by delivering pragmatic and proportionate solutions.
The ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently where needed.
Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong organisational skills.
Strong analytical and logical skills.
Based in the Bridgwater area.

Additional Information
A Main requirement for this role is to support site-based activities within the nuclear safety and commissioning teams on site at Hinkley Point C therefore the candidate should be within a commutable distance of site. Whilst flexible and hybrid working arrangements can be agreed, a large proportion of time should be spent on site to benefit the candidate’s development and technical understanding alongside building relationship with key stakeholders.
 
Due to the nature of the work, the candidates must have a suitable background that will allow them to achieve UK security clearance to a minimum level of BPSS.
