Controls Remediation Subject Matter Expert

Role Overview:

A leading organization in the insurance sector seeks a Controls Remediation Subject Matter Expert to support a critical program within IFRS17. The role involves addressing deficiencies in financial reporting controls by leveraging expertise in finance and actuarial projects within the industry.

THE ROLE:

Define and facilitate control remediation activities
Monitor progress on control remediation and retesting
Support the Controls Workstream Project Manager
Expedite remediation of control design and operational deficiencies
Manage post-implementation review (PIR) outcomes
Confirm and manage control remediation paths to green (PTGs)
Create and agree control remediation PTGs with stakeholders
Build trust with Control Owners to facilitate remediation delivery
Report and escalate relevant risks, controls, and standards
Solve problems in line with policy and guidelines, supporting project resources
Recommend changes based on expertise and analysis
Manage time effectively, typically completing tasks within 3 months
Foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Utilize strong commercial acumen to develop cost-effective solutionsKEY SKILLS:

Experience in finance and actuarial projects within the insurance industry
Understanding of financial controls improvement and rationalization
Proficiency in root cause analysis, option definition, and issue resolution
Ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty in a fast-paced project environment
Strong stakeholder management skills, including running virtual meetings and workshops
Capacity to work independently and drive outcomes effectively
Understanding of the Financial Services industry and regulatory framework
Demonstrated experience in finance and actuarial projects within the industry
Proven ability to deliver strategic projects and programs
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
