We are delighted to be working with a small care provider who are currently in need of a Registered Manager for a BRAND NEW CHILDREN’S HOME in Bristol.

This would be an ideal opportunity for someone who wishes to ‘make their mark’ and help set a home up from scratch. This is an exciting prospect for an enthusiastic individual who is dedicated to securing the best possible outcomes for vulnerable children.

JOB TITLE: Registered Manager

LOCATION: Bristol

SALARY: £45,000 - £55,000 (dependent on experience) + generous annual leave

OVERVIEW

The initial focus will the setting up of the home from scratch, working closely with the Responsible Individual to deal with policies, procedures, recruitment, and everything else involved in readiness for the registering and opening of the home.

Once registered, you will have responsibility for ensuring the highest possible standards of child-focused care are maintained.

The aim will be for the children’s home to offer a sense of warmth and stability, where children benefit from core values of mutual respect and good parenting. This will be underpinned by promoting positivity about the future and enabling all children to experience belonging through the active promotion of choice, rights, and personal fulfilment. This will be augmented through a unequivocal commitment to promoting the welfare of children in our care.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES IN BRIEF

* Responsible for overseeing the home's care and operations, from the day-to-day management to strategic planning.

* Take a lead role in safeguarding children, as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the home.

* Lead and manage a team to deliver excellence, with the needs and requirements of children as central to everything that happens in the home.

* Ensure that every colleague has the knowledge, skills, and ability to maintain safe and effective care – and promote openness and transparency.

* Maintain establish monitoring and quality assurance processes, taking account of any learning and driving excellence.

* Carry out and oversee routine meetings, supervisions, probationary reviews.

* Work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for children in our care.

* Responsibility for managing the children’s home budget in collaboration with the finance team.

* Develop systems in which children are actively consulted about the quality of care they receive, whilst seeking opportunities to enhance their experiences of living in their home.

REQUIREMENTS

* Management experience within children’s residential.

* Positive dealings and proven track record with Ofsted.

* Experience of working with children who present Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and other complex needs.

* Solution-focused approach.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* A solid understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Children's Act 1989, and Care Standards Act 2000, as well as Ofsted’s Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF).

* A firm knowledge of Safeguarding.

* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management qualification (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards.
