Avocet are delighted to be working with a civil & structural consultancy who have exciting opportunities in their Plymouth office.

The company are based across the UK having started in Scotland over 120 years ago, their core values have established them as one of the most reputable civil & structural consulting engineers.

Since opening an office in Plymouth four years ago, the team has grown, taking on some truly unique projects across the South West and further afield in the UK. Consisting of a team of thirteen with a director office lead, there is scope to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer who can grow with the office, and progress to Associate Director – Director level.

Key responsibilities include…

* Demonstrate good development of knowledge in civil engineering and development infrastructure

* Have awareness of construction contracts and terms of appointment. Have the ability to liaise with clients, stakeholders, local authorities and highways officers

* Be fully conversant with sectional agreements such as S38, S278 etc

* Have awareness of business development activities and be responsible for the preparation, issue and management of technical project information, including calculations and drawing information, in accordance with the standard requirements

* To have limited responsibility for technical, financial and managerial aspects of complete projects as directed by your line manager. To maintain high standards of information presentation and to ensure their accuracy

Who you’ll Be…

* Minimum of five years industry experience working within the civils industry

* Ideally chartered, or working toward chartership

* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering

* Full driving license

* Enthusiasm to help grow the team and office

* Starting salary circa £35,000 £45,000 however this can be negotiable DOE
