As an Emergency Department Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of patient care in the emergency department. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement policies and procedures that meet the highest standards of care. You will also be responsible for managing staffing levels, maintaining equipment and supplies, and overseeing the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the emergency department, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with established protocols and guidelines
Promote teamwork, collaboration, and open communication among members of the emergency department staff
Oversee the timely and accurate completion of documentation, including patient records and regulatory reports
Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and implement strategies to improve quality and safety
Develop and implement policies and procedures that comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements
Coordinate and participate in emergency preparedness activities and drills
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field; Master's degree preferred
Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of California
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in emergency or critical care nursing
Previous management or leadership experience in an emergency department or similar setting
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of current best practices in emergency care and emergency department management
Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Strong organizational and time management skills
