We are working with a privately owned restaurant that is looking to build the capability in its Kitchen by finding the right person to lead a new team to deliver exceptional quality and new menus to this already busy location.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food production and ensuring the highest quality of culinary offerings. You will lead a team of kitchen staff, manage food preparation, and maintain a safe and efficient kitchen environment.
Duties:
* Overall responsibility for daily operations in the kitchen
* Liaising with purchasing companies and organising food orders
* Organising, negotiating & maintaining the profit margins on food
* Producing menus and new dishes
* Managing, training and recruiting the kitchen team
* Responsible for making sure the restaurant meets all regulations
* Manage food inventory and order supplies as needed
* Collaborate with management to develop new ideas
* Manage food costs and minimize waste through efficient portion control
Experience:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant.
* Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and food safety regulations
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation
