The role of a Teaching Assistant:

Classroom Support

Assist the teacher in the preparation of materials and resources
Supporting individual students or small groups with classwork
Creating and fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
Ensure the class is tidy, and well organised throughout different points of the day.Behavioural Support

Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and productive classroom atmosphere
Supporting students in their development of social skills and behaviourIndividual Student Support

Providing additional 1:1 assistance to pupils who may require extra support
Offering encouragement and guidance to students with Additional Needs.
Work with students with additional needs and contribute to the development and implementation of individualised education plans.Communication

The ability to communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and pupils regarding day-to-day classroom activities and the progress of pupils.

Candidate Requirements:

Hold an enhanced DBS check (or be willing to apply for one)
Registered with the EWC (We can assist with this as well as the DBS)
Fluent in both Welsh and English
Able to commute within Cardiff
