Mental Health Wellbeing Mentor Needed for Secondary School in Newport

Pay - £12.90 to £14.00 per hour

Start date - Asap

Teaching personnel are working closely with a large secondary school based in Newport to recruit a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work within the learning support hub of the school. The school have identified several students who are struggling with some sort of mental health issues. The school are looking for a teaching assistant who can act as a mental health mentor to support with wellbeing as well as education support. Mental health can be a key factor causing students to be disengaged and disruptive in schools, so having someone to work alongside the students will ensure they are supported.

The school is a large mixed secondary school-based Newport and has a capacity for 1450 pupils. It has recently been redeveloped and benefited from a new £29 million school building. The school has state of the art learning facilities and equipment from interactive white boards to Apple mac computers

To be successful in this role you don’t necessarily need to come from an education-based background, we have a proven track record of introducing individuals from an array of backgrounds into the education sector with success.
