We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping ambitious, innovation-led businesses in the West Midlands to grow and scale. As a Senior Innovation and Growth Specialist, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to high potential businesses to help enhance their innovation management capacity and overall competitiveness.
Your key responsibilities will include coaching and mentoring clients to develop long-term innovation commercialisation plans, analysing the business to identify potential growth opportunities, and helping clients prioritise potential issues and identify and implement solutions.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience in an industrial/innovation environment, and an understanding of the issues surrounding SME development. You should also have experience using innovation & strategic management tools within an SME environment and be able to mentor senior managers in the development of differentiated business models.
Experience of working with high-growth companies and exposure to international collaboration and strategic partnering would also be beneficial, as well as a good understanding of finance and investment.
We are looking for someone who is an effective communicator and can build a strong rapport with the businesses that they work with. Excellent organisational skills, the ability to think analytically and problem solve are also essential, as well an ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain a high quality of work, whilst keeping awareness of the bigger picture.
If you have experience of raising finance (either through Innovate UK or European funding or through other financial vehicles including private investment), an interest in venture capital investment and sustainability issues, and supporting innovative SMEs to thrive we would love to hear from you.
